Taking Andrei Tarkovsky’s 1976 film ‘Stalker’ as a starting point, The Zone documents a liminal space situated between city and heathland, which constantly changes according to requirements. The different uses of this landscape are recorded over the seasons, using the same vantage point, to comment on our relationship with place, nature and community.
